Finland is rightly regarded as one of the leading design / innovation nations in the world. Design District Helsinki is a remarkable hive of creative and design activity and retail outlets. Established in 2010, the Aalto University is “a new university with centuries of experience”. The first high-level innovation forum between Russia and the European Union (EU) will be held between 25 and 27 May 2010 in Lappeenranta, Finland, over 500 participants are expected to attend.

HIRAMEKI Design × Finland will be the “authentic attitude of design and lifestyle from Finland at Tokyo Designers Week, October 29 – November 9, at the Living Design Centre, Ozone, Tokyo”. The event “will showcase the current phenomena of “new Finnish design matched with evergreen classics”. The venue of the exhibition is located in the Shinjuku area.

Hirameki is produced by Design Forum Finland in collaboration with Living Design Center, Ozone and the Finnish Institute in Japan. It is a large scale cooperative exhibition between the most important actors in the fields of design in both Finland and Japan, from design agencies to education and communication, and from young creators to solutions based on businesses, design-intensive companies and universities.
